1 Month Tuition
Lesson Fees
Tuition charge for individuals is a monthly $80 fee. Tuition charge for more than one family member
enrolled is a monthly $70 fee, per student.
Tuition is due at the FIRST lesson of each month, otherwise a late fee of $5.00 will be accrued. (I do not
send monthly bills.)
Tuition pays for a monthly time slot. Holidays, breaks, and administrative costs were considered when determining the monthly tuition.
Administrative costs cover the loan of music from my library, printing costs, program and recital DVDs and contribution for recital costs.
Lesson tuition is the same for a 4 week month, 5 week month or months including holiday breaks where no
lessons are held. Monthly tuition ensures you that your time spot is reserved for the specific chosen day and time.
You are essentially paying for a time spot whether you show up or not for lessons!
Form of payment - cash or check or PayPal (No PayPal account necessary).
Checks can be made payable to "Heart and Soul Music."
A $25.00 PROCESSING FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR EACH N.S.F. CHECK RETURNED.
Be On Time
Please be on time for your lesson. Please do not arrive more than
5 min. before your lesson time. If your lesson is from 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. and you come at 4:10 p.m., the lesson will still end at 4:30 p.m.
This insures that lessons will not run behind.
Be prepared
Students are accepted with the understanding that they will practice regularly. It is recommended that each piano student practice 2-3 hours per week to benefit from the lessons.
Vocal students - include a warm-up in your daily routine and sing, sing, sing!
Bring Required Materials
Each student is to come to the lesson with all materials. Vocal students - please be prepared with music CD, lyrics or sheet music as discussed at lessons.
Piano students - Please bring your music books and notebook to each lesson.
All vocal students will be asked to order and purchase “Winning Warmups for the Voice” CD by Kathleen VanDeGraff. The CD can be purchased through http://www.domenicoproducts.com.
Any vocal music books for practice will be purchased by you.
Please feel free to contact Barbara Githens with questions regarding any portion of this policy.
Swaplist Guidelines
I offer a voluntary list where you can have your name, phone number, and lesson time published on a "lesson swap"
list. All students who choose to be on this will receive a username access and password to access the swaplist from the
home page of this website. Students who are not using the swaplist will not receive username or password.
Lessons can then be rearranged and "swapped" with other students for important and unavoidable conflicts. Swaplist
can be used at any time but not to exceed two swaps a month.
Please notify me in advance of changed lessons times arranged from the swaplist.
Guidelines for Missed Lessons
In order to qualify for a make-up arranged by the teacher, the lesson must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. Please note that teacher
makeup times are subject to teacher availability. Only 1 teacher makeup time arranged by teacher and student will be allowed per month.
Additional missed lessons that are not rescheduled or "swapped" are non refundable.
Make-up lessons will be offered for sickness, family emergencies, or if I need to cancel for some reason. Group piano
lessons may be scheduled throughout the year for piano students due to weather cancellations or reasons deemed necessary by the teacher.
No make-ups or swaps are allowed for missed group lessons.
Cancellations for bad weather, just like any other cancellation, will be made up based on
teacher availability. The teacher may also arrange for a group lesson at a later date.
Holidays and Breaks
There will be no lessons scheduled during the holidays or breaks listed in the schedule below.
If your lesson falls on one of these days you will not have a lesson. Come to your next scheduled lesson.
There are no refunds for holidays and breaks. Tuition pays for a monthly time slot and these
holidays and breaks were considered when determining the monthly tuition.
The holiday and break schedule is posted in advance so that you can be aware of it.
